Plastic People of the Universe
 
The nature and exponential growth in the use of polyethylene propels the movement invention, text, set and costume design of this work, which upcycles 5000 plastic six pack holders. Local area dancers can be incorporated into several sections of the work, as shown in the clips here.

Site-specific for shoreline areas, this work can involve the community on several levels. The work has been performed at several location, often held in conjunction with coastal clean up efforts, which are held around the globe and we recommend as a related participatory event. The music is performed by a drum circle playing found objects and instruments crafted out of recycled materials. Local drummers or community members can join the circle and play along. Performances culminate with a ritual walk to the water.
