For the Association of Performing Arts Professional's conference, we're showcasing Proteus, newly commissioned by the National Gallery of Art and featuring costumes made from plastic bags, and Plastic People of the Universe, merging movement, dialogue and thousands of plastic six-pack holders, continuing our tradition of utilizing materials headed for the landfill.

Join us in our studio for an intimate showing of the National Gallery commissioned work Proteus, excerpts of Plastic People of the Universe, and to connect with what's in the works for Artichoke Dance in 2019 and beyond. Libations and food will be abundant. Feel free to pop in early or stay late.
Enjoy a screening of Plastic Ocean, a riveting documentary discussing plastic pollutants in our oceans. Bring the kids, this is a family friendly film!

Join us along with 350Brooklyn and #GetOrganizedBK to march in costumes made from plastic bags. Signs linking fossil fuel use and plastic consumption, ban the bag signs, and a cardboard pipeline and fossil fuel monster will accompany the group. We provide signs and costumes, or if you've made your own in our previous workshops, wear it.
Meet at 14th Avenue and 7th Street at 6:15 to get into costume. Parade begins at 6:30 and ends at JJ Byrne Playground/The Old Stone House. Route details here.

Beach Clean Up with Artichoke Dance
September 23, 9am-noon
Grab your sunscreen and meet us at the beach to collect and catalogue trash and debris. Last year 66,830 pounds of debris were removed along 233 miles of shoreline in New York State. We will provide bags and gloves.

Join dancers of Artichoke Dance Company to focus on movements that really move us through space. These will be utilized to perform in the Community Cultural Day parade on August 12 at 2:00pm.
Workshop is free and takes place in Henry Hudson Riverfront Park.
Bring your bags! We'll create elaborate ready wearables from them for the Community Cultural Celebration in Hudson, NY.
