The following projects combine performance with community building and activism to create change and envision a brighter future.
Future Currents: The LA RIver
Spearheaded by our Director Lynn Neuman, Future Currents is a collaboration between academic units at California State University Northridge (CSUN), the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya), and local artists and organizations to bring interaction with and awareness to complexities surrounding the Los Angeles River.
We’re returning to the Gowanus Canal, involving people in creative processes focusing on local environmental issues and impending community change spurred by rezoning and development. On June 15, we’ll host a day long festival with activities and performances that reflect on the present and creatively envision the future.
