A site adaptive work

35-45 minutes, site-adaptive to nearly any location

Visioning Bodies is a contemporary folk dance for a resilient future. It creates a way of existing in place, time and energy that models co-created and interconnected systems, the likes of which need to be in place to take on 21st Century challenges in the face of climate change. This work was commissioned by The Soraya and premiered at Future Currents: LA River Festival.

The choreography depicts cause and effect through patterns, actions and reactions, making use of Artichoke Dance Company’s unique approach to contemporary partnering that requires a balance of strength and sensitivity. Reflecting on observations and experiences working in and around the Los Angeles river, Visioning Bodies takes audiences on a journey to experience the construction of a balanced and dynamic environment through movement and sound.
